Part 1: No Hope

                                               (Gary)

Mauxin gazed out of the palace window, watching one of several parades go by. I love this time of year, he thought. Exactly 3 years ago, he and his polar bears had taken over what used to be called Club Penguin. He’d completely redone the city. It was now named Polaris, and he was the ruler. Before he’d taken over, the city had been a big playhouse. Parties all the time, and cute little parties. But they hadn’t been able to stop Mauxin. Almost all of the penguins had fought back, but in time they settled down and lived under Mauxin’s rule. The ones that didn’t were down below the palace in jail cells. He’d put everyone else that the penguins had admired in jail, too, including Gary, Aunt Arctic, and Rockhopper.  Mauxin shivered. He didn’t like penguins, good or bad. He’d have to get rid of them soon.

                                                       (Doxim)

Doxim arrived at the jail cells with a mission. Mauxin had assigned him yesterday to talk to Aunt Arctic and try to convince her, once again, to join his side. She was smart, and they needed someone to be the editor for the Polar Edition. He decided to stop at Gary’s cell first, because he loved to make fun of him.
Gary’s cell had always had double security since he’d tried to get out the first time. Doxim waved the gaurds aside and entered an eight-digit code. The door swung open and he stepped inside. When he cleared his throat, Gary didn’t look up. His previously white lab coat was now a dark grey and had streaks of brown and red in it. “Gary, I’m giving you one last chance, work for Mauxin or die in this cell.”
The scientist, agent, and all-around smart guy finally looked up. Doxim could tell he was angry.
“I would never work for that bear and you know it,” Gary said. “I am loyal to Club Penguin and always will be.” Doxim laughed loudly. “There is no Club Penguin now, you scum. It’s Polaris.  And don’t even think your friends will save you now. They’ve been defeated just as you have.” Gary all of a sudden looked depressed. “Doxim, you were one of us. How and why would you do this?” Doxim laughed yet again. He didn’t dignify Gary with an answer as the door slammed shut.

                                                                 (Gary)

After Doxim left, his cruel laugh still echoed in Gary’s ears. This only served to make him angry. “I’m going to get out of here, and I’m bringing Aunt Arctic, Rockhopper, and all of the Agents here with me.”
With that he leaned back against the wall and let sleep come.
